Best 3 Waterfalls Near Pilot Cove
If you’re visiting the Land of Waterfalls in Brevard NC and Pisgah National Forest, these are some of the best waterfalls in Western North Carolina!
- Looking Glass Falls: Located just 5.5 miles into Pisgah National Forest from Pilot Cove, Looking Glass Falls is one of the most photographed waterfalls in Western North Carolina. The cascade drops 60 feet into pool that is also a great swimming hole on warm days. Access is right off of 276 and allows handicap accessible viewing.
- Sliding Rock: Located just 7.6 miles into Pisgah National Forest from Pilot Cove, Sliding Rock has been a favorite of generations of Park visitors. The waterfall is a 60-foot natural rockslide into a small pool. It is the perfect place to cool off after a nice hike in the forest. Access is directly off 276 and provides bathrooms and changing rooms. A small fee is charged at the entrance to the parking area.
- Skinny Dip Falls: Despite the name, Skinny Dip Falls is very kid friendly and one of our favorite swimming holes. It offers large boulders for sun bathing or jumping into the clear, emerald green pools. There also is a secret cave created by a waterfall and boulder that kids love to explore. Access is off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The trailhead is directly across the from Looking Glass Rock overlook.
