What time is check in and check out?
Check in is 3:30pm and there is no front desk so you will access the cabin with a door code that will be emailed to you with arrival instructions four days prior to your arrival date. Check out is 11am.
Is Pilot Cove right for me?
Pilot Cove is about being close to amenities and the entrance to Pisgah National Forest. We are the closest lodging to Sliding Rock, and Looking Glass Rock and Falls. We are at the BASE of the mountains at 2200 feet elevation, bordered by Pisgah National Forest in a 64-acre wooded setting. 10 restaurants, 2 bike shops, a brewery, a tap room, and Walmart are all within walking distance. We are a 5-minute drive from the beautiful downtown of Brevard. Although our cabins are oriented for privacy, if you are looking for long-range views and seclusion, you should be on TOP of the mountains. The trade off is you are typically a long way from anywhere and on curvy, steep, mountain roads.
Pilot Cove offers comfortable accommodations for travelers of all ages, interests, and activity levels. Guests are welcomed to utilize trails on-site, and encouraged to use bicycles as their primary mode of transportation to surrounding amenities and town (we’re right by the greenway!). If you prefer to drive, that’s fine too! All cabins feature private parking, and are accessible by car.

Does each cabin have a view?
Although our cabins are oriented for privacy, if you are looking for long-range views and seclusion, you should be on TOP of the mountains. The trade off is you are typically a long way from anywhere. Views vary based on cabin orientation, surrounding trees, and season. While we try our very best to accommodate view requests, we cannot guarantee specific cabin assignments. We can guarantee an assignment to the cabin size booked. Please inquire with any questions!
What is my desired cabin size is unavailable?
If your desired cabin size is unavailable, please contact us directly to book! We will work to accommodate your request in an available cabin. We can be reached at [email protected] or at 1-866-PLT-COVE.
Are stairs required to access the cabin?
Some of our cabins require stairs to access. If you have mobility issues, please contact us or note on your reservation to request a cabin with no stairs.
What is the cancellation policy?
A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due 30 days before your arrival date.
Cancellations that are made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date will be assessed a 5% administrative fee of the booking deposit, and then the balance of the deposit shall be refunded. Cancellations within 30 days of check in date will result in a loss of 100% of all monies paid. Pilot Cove offers trip insurance through Red Sky Travel Insurance trippreserver.com
Trip insurance is 6.95% of your reservation and covers unforeseen emergencies and illnesses.

What is the accidental damage waiver?
We do not charge a security deposit. When booking, you agree we can charge your credit card up to $3000 to cover accidental damages that may occur during your stay. The other option is to purchase an accidental damage waiver for $39.99. This will cover you for any accidental damages that occur during your stay up to $3000.
What is your minimum stay requirement?
Minimum stay requirements are shown on our booking platform and these stay requirements vary by season. These can occasionally be waived to accommodate one and two night stays if the request fits within our calendar. Please email us at [email protected] with your request and we will get back to you.
What amenities are included in the cabins?
All cabins feature fully-appointed kitchens with dishes and silverware, stackable washer/dryer, free Wi-Fi access, secure bike storage, exterior hose for washing bikes, covered outdoor deck space, 48″ flatscreen TV with cable, linens, towels, and closet storage.
Are linens / bedding / towels provided or do I bring my own?
Linens, bedding, pillows, and towels are all provided in each cabin.
Are toiletries provided?
Yes, toiletries are provided.
Does Pilot Cove use scented cleaning products?
All linens and towels are washed in non-scented detergent. However, we do use scented cleaning products when mopping and disinfecting the bathroom, counters, etc. If you have sensitivity to scented cleaning products, please let us know when booking and we will make sure they are not used when preparing for your arrival.
Is cell service available?
Cell service is available on the property. Strength of signal depends on your carrier. AT&T and Verizon tend to offer the strongest signals in our area and throughout the Pisgah National Forest.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Free Wi-Fi is available in each cabin.
Can I bring my dogs?
Dogs are allowed in 85% of cabins. We cannot allow dogs in each cabin due to guests with dog allergies. Guests must request a dog-friendly cabin! If you have any questions about our dog policy, please contact us for an answer.
Dogs are subject to a $100 charge per cabin. ONE dog is allowed per efficiency cabin for the $100 dog fee. TWO dogs are allowed per one bedroom or two bedroom cabin for the $100 dog fee. Additional dogs are $50 per dog, with a total of 3 dogs allowed in a one bedroom cabin, and 4 dogs allowed in a two bedroom cabin. Dogs found without PRE-APPROVED reservations or in a non-dog friendly cabin are subject to a $300 fine per occurrence.
We unfortunately are not able to allow cats or other pets of any sort.
Dogs are the full responsibility of their owners at all times. Dogs must be leashed at all times. All dog waste on property must be collected and disposed of by their owner. Please abide by the dog rules to help us foster a safe, enjoyable environment for all guests and our animal companions.
Do you have a property and trail map?
Do you offer daily housekeeping?
We do not offer daily housekeeping. Housekeeping is offered once every 7 (seven) days for our longer stay guests. Cabins come furnished with extra linens and towels for replacements. If more are needed, please contact us at the number provided in the cabin and we will bring replacements. Stackable washer and dryer units are also located in each cabin for use.
Do you offer food on-site?
We do not offer food on-site at Pilot Cove. However, there are ample food options available nearby, with approximately 10 restaurants within walking distance. Each cabin is equipped with a fully appointed kitchen for guest meal preparation. Bi-Lo and Wal Mart are within walking distance and offer groceries for sale. Downtown Brevard is a short 5-minute drive away and offers premier dining and shopping options. Please see our Things to Do page for a full list of local options.
Can my group use the amphitheater?
Yes! Please note the amphitheater is available by reservation only. Advance notice is required! For any formal events with parking, catering, etc needs, the reservation fee is required. Please contact us if you have a smaller group that would like to use the space.
Can I request a specific view or cabin?
Yes, we do everything we can to accommodate special requests by guests on a first come first serve basis. Please know that the earlier you book, the more likely we will be able to accommodate a special request.
Do you have trails at Pilot Cove?
Yes, we have trails on property! The full trail network is under development; however, we currently have ~2 miles available for guest use, including a ~1/2 mile flow track course with wooden and dirt berm features, table tops, rollers, and a platform to watch riders below. Be respectful of other riders and hikers while using the Pilot Cove trail system.
Where are the closest trails not on the Pilot Cove property?
Right out your back door! Pilot Cove offers ride in / ride out access to many of Pisgah’s most celebrated mountain biking trails, including Thrift Cove, Black Mountain, Sycamore Cove, Avery Creek, Bennett Gap, and more!
Will I encounter insects and wildlife at Pilot Cove?
The Pilot Cove property is essentially a part of Pisgah National Forest; we share a contiguous border for over a mile. When designing Pilot Cove, we went to great lengths to preserve the forest environment for guests to enjoy alongside modern comforts and conveniences. Please understand that you may encounter mosquitoes, insects, and other wildlife around the cabins and on the trails. It is difficult for us to control all insects and occurrences in the natural environment, although we do all we can!
Is there a discounted group rate available?
Please contact us to plan your group vacation for multiple cabins.
Can I bring tents or have extra guests sleep on the floor?
Tents are not permitted around the cabins. Efficiency cabins have an allotted occupancy of two guests. One bedroom cabins have an allotted occupancy of four guests. Two bedroom cabins have an allotted occupancy of six guests.
Is camping available at Pilot Cove?
Camping at Pilot Cove is not permitted at this time. However, we are in the process of developing a campground for future use. Planned potential amenities in the campground include picnic tables, fire rings, flat tent sites, tarp stringing anchors for weather protection, a “shed” at each campsite for secure bike and gear storage, electricity, Wi-Fi access, and bath houses with hot showers and laundry facilities. Parking will not be available at any campsite, and each will require a short walk to access. Check back soon for updates on our campground progress!
Can I bring an RV / Trailer?
No, we are unable to accommodate RVs or Campers at this time. This could change in the future; please check back periodically for more info.
Can I bring horses or a horse trailer?
No. Horses are not permitted on property at Pilot Cove, and we are unable to accommodate horse trailers.
Can I hold my wedding at Pilot Cove?
Yes! Please visit our events page for more information or contact us with specific questions.
What do I do with trash and recycling?
Trash and recycling receptacles are located throughout the property. Please locate the closest receptacle and bring your waste and recycling there. Housekeeping will dispose of trash and recycling in the cabin upon check out.
